Bulino Engraved Lock-Back Folder |
 | This custom, lock-back folder is engraved with entertwining scroll-work. It features the owner's initial and a North American elk bulino engraved by hand. The knife was made by Texas knifemaker, Jim Barnes. It has extensive rope file-work on the inside of the liners, back spring and the back of the blade. It's handle material is stag- horn dove-tailed under the bolsters. The bolsters are 416 stainless-steel.  | This horsesshoe engraving was commissioned to commemorate the winning of the international Clydesdale stallion championship. The shoe weighed five pounds and was roughly 3 times larger than the typical quarter-horse sized shoes I typically engrave. |

 This heavy bracelet is made from 10 gauge sterling silver and has blue and multi-colored sapphires set into a traditional Western brightcut design. Everything is hand engraved inside and out. The rope border is also meticulously hand engraved.

Sterling Silver Horseshoe Nail Ring |

I have had several requests for horseshoe nail rings over the past couple of years, but I have hesitated making rings until I could arrive at a design which I knew was completely unique. I tried several configurations using a single nail bent in the shape of a ring, but was not pleased with the look of those rings. Finally, I started thinking about a more complex ring using two or more nails. I finally arrived at this delicate design. Each ring is cast in sterling silver and individually hand engraved.  This pendant has a 2mm champagne diamond in a star at the base. The engraving is a Western Bright-cut repeating leaf pattern with an engraved rope border.

A "Modern" Engraved Horseshoe?? |
|
Sometimes I get some unusual requests. Most recently, my unusual request came in an email. A customer wanted to give her sister a horseshoe for a wedding gift for a wedding in Hawaii. The problem was that both her sister and future husband were very “Modern”. The customer described their house as all glass, chrome and black granite. Now I’m no expert on modern living, but I figured that that was not the kind of house one would expect to find a horseshoe hanging above the doorway.

Custom Engraved Hunting Knife |

 I engraved this custom hunting knife with intricate scrollwork. This knife is typical of the type of engraving I like to do on high-end knives. This photo actually shows the reverse side of the knife. The primary side of the knife is engraved similarly except it also has a ribbon with the owner's name engraved.
The knife was made by Texas knifemaker, Roy Hinds. It has bowtie file-work on the tang. The handle material is Texas mesquite. The bolsters are stainless-steel. You can view other engraved knives here

Silver and Gold Tribute to Roy Rogers
I recently had the honor of being accepted into the 2009 Western Design Conference in Jackson Hole Wyoming. The show called for something really special. After much deliberation about what to do for the show, my wife had the great idea of doing a Roy Rogers themed horseshoe.
This piece was created in honor of one of America’s most beloved cowboys, Roy Rogers. Both myself and my wife, Laurie, are life-long fans of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. This horseshoe is an attempt to honor their lives.
